Cosmetic industry: present and future of Latin America. Regulatory perspective

The cosmetic industry in Latin America has grown exponentially in recent years. The opportunities for the future are promising. The private sector, organized in CASIC - the Council of the Cosmetic, Personal Care and Home Care Industries of Latin America, has worked closely with the health, commercial and other authorities of the region, making progress towards a certain union in better international regulatory practices, in many cases reaching the highest standards, which makes it part of a global industry. This has opened the doors to the world, and today Latin American cosmetic products are available in all parts of the globe.

To keep these growth rates in a sustainable manner, it is important that the regulatory frameworks accompany technological and innovation advances, as well as the new needs of consumers, modernizing and keeping up-to-date in relation to progress in these regions, always guaranteeing the consumer's safety.

This presentation will provide an overview of the present and future potential for the cosmetic industry in Latin America, focusing on the revolution and evolution of local and regional regulatory framework applicable to cosmetic products.
