The cosmetic industry in Latin America has grown exponentially in recent years. Latin America is the 4th market worldwide behind Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the United States. Future opportunities are promising. The private sector as a whole, organized as CASIC - the Cosmetics Industry Council and Latin America Personal Hygiene Home Care Industry, has worked closely with the Health Authorities, Commercial, and other authorities in the region, making progress towards a clear convergence in international best regulatory practices, reaching in many cases the highest standards, which makes it part at the global industry. This has opened the doors to the world, and today Latin American cosmetic products are available in many parts of the planet.

To maintain these growth rates in a sustainable way, it is important that regulatory frameworks accompany technological and innovation advances, as well as new consumer needs, modernizing and keeping up to date in relation to progress in reference regions, guaranteeing always consumer safety.
