Sigfredo González is the global applications development Leader for Momentive’s Personal Care business where he oversees the design, testing and evaluation of personal care formulations in color cosmetics and hair, skin and sun care formulations.

González, with close to 30 years of experience in silicone process technology in the textile, pulp/paper and personal/home care industries, started his career as a chemist at Union Carbide, where he developed new commercial processes for silicone polymers and went on to lead the company’s global process technology efforts.

Next, González moved into new product development for Process Industries at Crompton Corporation, which was acquired by GE Silicones and in turn became Momentive Performance Materials. He later held the position of technology manager for Personal Care before being named applications development manager in 2017. He is author/co-author of 8 patents/patent applications and other publications.

González graduated with a BS in Chemistry from University of Wisconsin-Madison, working under the direction of Dr. Robert West, and earned a Chemistry PhD at Washington University in St. Louis working with Dr. Peter Gaspar.
